Cold Brew Affogato With Dark Chocolate

Have you ever heard about affogato? 🙂 It’s a simple Italian dessert made with coffee and ice cream. That’s it! 2 ingredients!

I topped my affogato with chopped dark chocolate and salted coconut caramel. But it’s totally optional. Even without these toppings, this gorgeous dessert is terrific!

I love affogato because it’s super easy and quick to make – just pour coffee over a scoop of vanilla ice cream! It’s ready in 5 minutes or less! And it’s absolutely delicious!

It’s the dream come true for all coffee and ice cream lovers. 🙂

The traditional affogato is made with hot espresso, but I prefer cold brew affogato. Cold brew affogato is simply made with cold brew coffee and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream doesn’t melt fast and instead it stays nice and cold so you can enjoy it longer. So, so good!

If you’re wondering what cold brew coffee is, keep on reading! 🙂

Cold Brew Coffee

Cold brew coffee is a coffee made with room-temperature water.

It is less acidic and sweeter than regular coffee but also has more caffeine. I love the flavor!

You can buy a cold brew coffee concentrate or make it yourself at home!

The amount of coffee you should use depends on how strong you want your coffee to be. I usually use 1/4 cup of ground coffee per 1 cup of water. You can make it as strong as you want by playing with different coffee-water ratios.

So how to make cold brew coffee? It’s easy! All you need to do is to pour water (room temperature) over your ground coffee and leave it for 12-24 hours. Then, strain and mix with your favorite milk, ice cubes, or condensed milk! Or make cold brew affogato as I did! 😉

Cold brew coffee is best-served cold, but if you prefer, you can heat it up! It won’t affect flavor that much.
