Parmesan French Toast

This gorgeous Parmesan French Toast recipe is a perfect example of an easy, quick, and totally delicious breakfast or brunch meal! Topped with simple tomato salsa and slices of smoked fried ham, it's possibly the best savory French toast you'll ever have!

In all my recipes 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml, 1 tablespoon equals 15 ml, 1 cup equals 250 ml. Spoons and cups are lightly packed.

 4 Large pieces of bread (eg. sourdough)
 2 Large eggs
 5 tbsp Milk
 3 tbsp Parmesan (finely grated)
 1 tsp Mustard
 Salt and pepper (to taste)
 Favorite dired herbs/paprika powder/garlic powder (to taste)
 Butter (for frying)
Optionally also
 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce/HP Sauce/Soy Sauce/Steak Sauce/Hot sauce
To serve, for example:
 Tomato salsa
 Beans in tomato sauce
 Green onions or chives (chopped)
 A few slices of fried ham/sausage/bacon/chorizo
 Fried egg

In a deep plate, whisk together eggs, milk, parmesan, mustard, salt, pepper, and other spices if using. Add also sauce of choice if using.

Dip the bread both sides in the egg mixture and press lightly.

Heat a non-stick pan over medium-low heat with 1-2 tbsp of butter. Fry toasts in batches until they are nicely browned. Add more butter before frying another batch if needed.

Serve, for example, with tomatoes, green onions, and slices of fried ham, bacon, or sausage. Fried egg and beans are also amazing!
