If you choose to use whole chicken breast or boneless chicken thigh, chop the meat into small pieces.
Prepare the veggies. Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot, cut the potato into small cubes, chop the cabbage (if using whole).
Add the rest of ingredients except parsley/dill: carrot, potato, shredded/chopped cabbage, all the spices, bay leaf, allspice berries, broth, tomatoes, lentils. Bring to boil then cover and cook on medium-low heat for 30 minutes.
Uncover, top with fresh parsley or dill, taste and season with more spices if needed.
