 500 g Shredded cabbage
300 g Ground meat (eg. turkey, chicken, pork, beef) or chicken breast/boneless chicken thigh (chopped)
  cup Green lentils
 5 cups Broth
 1 Big carrot
 1 Onion
 1 Potato
 400 g Passata (or 400g canned tomatoes)
2 tbsp Fresh parsley or dill
 1 tsp Smoked paprika
 1 tsp Sweet paprika
 ½ tsp Cumin
 1 tsp Oregano
 1 tsp Thyme
 1 Bay leaf

Prepare the veggies. Finely chop the onion, grate the carrot, cut the potato into small cubes, chop the cabbage (if using whole).

Heat a large pot over medium heat with a little bit of oil. Add onion and cook for 2 minutes, until soft. Move to the side, and add meat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring from time to time.

Add the rest of ingredients except parsley/dill: carrot, potato, shredded/chopped cabbage, all the spices, bay leaf, allspice berries, broth, tomatoes, lentils. Bring to boil then cover and cook on medium-low heat for 30 minutes.

Uncover, top with fresh parsley or dill, taste and season with more spices if needed.

Serve with bread!
