Juicy, super tasty Polish Pork Patties With Mushroom Sauce - a classic, old-school dish that everybody loves! Traditional Polish comfort food that's quick and easy to make. This is my family recipe for pork patties which we've been loyal to for many years and I don’t see it changing soon. They are perfect!
Finely chop the onion and garlic. Slice the mushroom.
Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat and fry onion and garlic for 3 minutes, until translucent. Add butter.
Add mushroom and fry for a few minutes, until golden.
Add cream, mustard, and herbs. Simmer for around 5 minutes, add salt and pepper to taste - ready!
Peel and grate the onion. Soak 1/4 cup of breadcrumbs in 1/4 cup of milk.
In a big bowl mix together ground pork, soaked breadcrumbs, grated onion, egg, mustard, herbs, water, salt, and pepper.
Mix all the ingredients for some time, not just until combined - the longer you'll work with the meat, the softer your patties will end up. The meat may seem even too soft/loose, but don't worry, it won't fall apart while frying. It should be like that.
Make 6-8 patties - bigger or smaller. Some people prefer bigger patties, some smaller. Up to you!
Carefully coat patties with remaining breadcrumbs. Just breadcrumbs, no egg.
Heat the large pan with lard or oil over medium-low heat. Fry patties until golden - don't turn often.
