Quick Zucchini And Ham Pasta

 150 g Pasta
 1 Zucchini
 100 g Ham
 3 Garlic cloves
 ½ Onion
 2 tbsp Butter
 2 tbsp Olive oil
¼ cup Reserved water from cooking pasta
Dried or fresh herbs (eg. basil, oregano, thyme, parsley)
 Salt and pepper
  cup Cream (optional)
 Shredded cheese (to top, optional)

Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add pasta and cook for the time written in the instructions MINUS 1 minute (it will finish cooking in the sauce). Drain the pasta, reserving 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water.

Meanwhile, cut the ham and zucchini into smaller pieces. Peel and finely chop the garlic and onion.

Heat a large pan over medium heat with 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add garlic and onion. Fry for 3 minutes, until translucent. Add ham. Fry for 3 minutes more.

Add remaining butter and zucchini. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs. Fry for a few minutes - until zucchini is almost cooked, stirring from time to time.

Add cream (if using), reserved water from cooking pasta, and pasta.

Toss together and simmer 2 minutes more. Taste and season with salt, pepper, or herbs if needed.
