In all my recipes 1 teaspoon equals 5 ml, 1 tablespoon equals 15 ml, 1 cup equals 250 ml. Spoons and cups are lightly packed.

cup Old-fashioned rolled oats (I used organic, gluten-free rolled oats)
1 cup Regular or vegan milk (I used almond milk)
 2 Fresh figs
1 tbsp Butter (or coconut oil)
1 tbsp Honey (or maple syrup)
 1 pinch Cinnamon
1 tbsp Chopped nuts (eg. walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts etc.)

1

Preheat the oven to 190 Celsius degrees.

2

Cut figs into 4 pieces and transfer into a small baking dish.

3

In a small pot, melt together butter and honey, just until combined. Pour the sauce over the figs, then sprinkle with cinnamon and top with chopped nuts. Transfer the baking dish into the oven. Bake figs for around 8 minutes, up to 10.

4

In the meantime, add oats and milk to the same pot (no need to wash). Bring to the boil and cook for a moment, until oats are soft. (You may want to add more milk, I like my oatmeal thick). Remove from the heat and cover to keep the oatmeal warm.

5

To serve, top the oatmeal with roasted figs and spoon over all the sauce from the baking.
