Tomato Bacon Pasta
This smokey tomato bacon pasta is a great midweek meal that you can have on your table just in 15 minutes. Perfect emergency meal!
It’s really simple to make, quick, and you need only a few pantry staples to prepare it! Surely, you have some of the ingredients already in your kitchen.
Plus, this pasta is so tasty!! 🙂 A fabulous way to use bacon.

What you need for this pasta
As it’s a very simple recipe, you won’t need anything special here.
Ingredients checklist:
- Smoked bacon – or ham, sausage, chicken.
- Tomatoes – passata (tomato puree), canned tomatoes, or fresh. Whatever works for you!
- Onion, garlic – basics.
- Seasoning – dried basil, chilli flakes/powder, smoked paprika, sugar, salt, and pepper. Chilli is totally optional. Smoked paprika too, but it’s great here!
- Cream or milk – just a tbsp to balance the flavor.
- Pasta and olive oil.
Just with these few basic ingredients, you can prepare a totally amazing pasta dish! It’s perfect for all these days when you’re feeling tired or just meeh.
It tastes amazing as it is, but feel free to adjust it to your needs. You can add some chicken or veggies or top with grated parmesan if you want to!

How to make tomato bacon pasta
As with many other pasta dishes, the recipe is quick and easy. 🙂
You start with frying the bacon, so it becomes crispy. Then, you sauté onion and garlic. Now, add tomatoes, seasoning, and a tbsp of cream. Simmer the sauce for a few minutes. Add pasta with a little bit of reserved cooking pasta water and toss, toss, toss!
Tossing the pasta with the sauce makes all the difference! The sauce thickens and sticks to the pasta. It truly tastes different (way better!) than when you just pour the sauce over the cooked spaghetti.

Popular questions:
This pasta tastes the best served fresh. If needed, use microwave for reheating.
Sure! It won’t be the same “bacon pasta” but it will be super tasty too. You can use ham, sausage, chorizo, or chicken.
Sure! Peel and finely chop them, and proceed with the recipe.
I wouldn’t recommend freezing pasta, especially if you add cream/milk.
